WANT TO DO A DROP IN?
One of the best parts of CrossFit is the community, you get to meet new people and make lifelong friends - all while getting fitter and stronger! We have members who have been with us since we opened in January 2016 in our garage and it’s a fact that they are more than members to us, we get to know everyone as we’re on the gym floor with you either coaching or jumping into the session while another of our amazing coaching team takes the class. Members are not a number in a CrossFit affiliate - they are truly art of the community and can really enhance the gym and it’s culture.
So, what to do if work have sent you to another part of the country or overseas? Or you’ve finally managed to book a vacation and take a break but you still would love to do the odd session to maintain the habit of training and experience how another ‘box’ does it? A unique element to the ‘affiliate’ nature of CrossFit is that we’re not a franchise, we apply to become an affiliate when we have obtained all our coaching qualifications (the owner of the licence must be a CrossFit Level 2 Coach) and applied and successfully passed the onboarding process - then we are allowed to teach CrossFit the way we were taught in our courses but also draw on other experience and so there is a freedom to our belief in how we show you this amazing sport in our vision.
At Three Flow our number 1 priority is member safety/health and at the top of this is technique, so we focus on what the right protocol produces this result and then we can build from that.
Now, getting back on track with the topic if a Drop In……..! You can do a few different things to find your local CrossFit box to where you are travelling but the main one is checking the CrossFit Affiliate Map (link below). Here all the official CrossFit affiliates are listed so you will be able to type in an address and everything close to you will pop up, then you can either contact the gym via there (CrossFit) form which emails the affiliate or you can use the choices listed to go check their website out which we highly recommend - why? Well here you’ll be able to get a feel for the gym in how their website is set up and find out what they require from you in order to perform a drop in, for example at Three Flow we request you email us at least 48 hours prior to your visit so that we can check availability of the class you’d like to attend (as we cap our classes and allow members to book in advance), receive and be able to answer your email which is hard if you sent an hour or loser to the class time and our contact form asks specific questions like; which affiliate are you a member of? How long have you done CrossFit? Do you have any injuries or issues we should be aware of? What class would you like to drop into (time and day). All this info means we can immediately get all the info we need and help lock in your space and get a little info from you as you might be new to CrossFit and we can give you a bit more info when you arrive or if you’ve done CrossFit for a while you might want to ask specific questions on the days session as you’ll be used to your own box’s way of doing things.
Once we have this info we can email you the sign up link which includes registration and payment, this also helps if you are a regular drop in to Canberra and you can be kept on our internal system for any future visits - we use Push Press as gym software and all your info is held encrypted and secure - we do not pass your info to anyone.
Now, you’ve contacted us, signed the form and made the online payment so what next? Basically rock up at least 5 mins early please and then we can give a quick heads up of the gym and answer any questions you might have. Prior to the brief of the days session we’ll let the community know you’re dropping in so they can welcome you and we as a gym can make you feel art of Three Flow for the session. We have the usual gym rules that other CrossFit gyms have and they can be found on our website but we also email out, please see below:

We have the usual gym ‘rules’ that most CrossFit boxes have but please see below:
Please try to be 5 mins early so you are able to hear the brief before the WOD and ask questions.
Please do not dump an empty barbell, dumbbells or kettlebells. If you dump a bar it must be a 15/20kg bar loaded with a minimum of two 10kg plates (so please do not dump the 5kg’s on their own).
We ask all members not to take their shirts off during the WOD. COVID has created a few new requirements and this is one.
You can use Liquid or Powder chalk in the gym but we don’t use chalk from a bucket like the old days due to the hygiene reasons of sharing out of the same container. We have liquid chalk for sale or you can use your own powder if it’s kept in a sealed container to avoid the risk of it being kicked/stepped on or excessive mess. If you are dropping in, please ask the coach as we have some spare liquid chalk at times to lend for your session.
And as usual we clean up as a team at the end using the wipes provided.
Open Gym is sometimes a question asked when someone is interested in dropping in but please note this is reserved only for our members, we strongly believe in the community of CrossFit and part of this is to be a member for the day rather than a drop in which seems too clinical! We do understand you might have access to your gyms programming and want to keep up with it but some of the fun of our sport is to train in other CrossFit gyms and hopefully get an experience that you will love and learn something in. We have regular drop in’s at Three Flow which is awesome and each time we get to catch up and see how they are going. I have even had some incredible experiences at other CrossFit gyms and love the fact that I got to see how other gyms run and coach their sessions - and get different ideas to possible use at Three Flow.

Contact us at least 48 hours prior to your drop in with all fields completed on the form
Complete the online form we send you asap so we can officially book you into the class
Arrive at least 5 mins early so we can say hi and answer any questions
